LONDON

weddings

Born and raised in London, London will always be my home. It’s my favourite city and I love shooting weddings here.

I’ve spent my life wandering London streets with a camera, explored its streets and found wonderful spots for portraits.

I’ve spent the past 11 years predominately photographing London weddings and when my husband proposed, we knew we would have a london wedding. So I completely understand the logistics of planning a london wedding, from allowing for London traffic to navigating multiple venues, to finding the perfect side street for portraits.

I also have an incredible list of suppliers that I have worked with that will help make your wedding planning and wedding an incredible experience.

There is a charm to London weddings. For some couples it’s the ability to get ready at home and have their wedding reception at their favourite restaurant. For others, it’s getting married at the Town Hall, just down the road, where they have fond memories of watching couples leave to a colour explosion of confetti every Saturday on their weekend walks.

Some couples dream of big open fields, beautiful gardens and forests others dream of a wedding day filled with the beauty of the city where they fell in love.

Whats not to love about incorporating your every day into your wedding day.

WORDS OF WISDOM

For a London Wedding

Embrace the city

There is so much variety in London and there is nothing better that wandering through the streets on your wedding day as strangers shout ‘CONGRATULATIONS’ from the other side of the road or a car drives past honking its horn in celebration of your special day. Give yourself time of the day to soak it all up.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Be you

London is full of incredible venues, from the local pub, to the private members club to the east London warehouses and more.

While it would be easy to get overwhelmed by choice, pick a venue that showcases who you are as a couple. It could be the area where you had your first date or a venue in the area where you have a built a life together.

This will allow you to wander the streets with ease on your wedding day, have a drink in your local pub and have portraits in and around your favourite streets, making your wedding photos not just a reminder of your wedding day but also of the life you are creating together.

DON’T BE AFRAID OF DRY HIRE VENUES

Some of the best venues in London are dry hire, which can be really daunting as you will have to bring everything in. While some couples will love the challenge others will fear the responsibility and logistics but don’t sweat it, there are helping hands other there.

If you have fallen in love with a dry hire venue but can’t face the logistics then you need a wedding co-ordinator and as luck will have it, there are some incredible people out there who can make your wedding dress a reality and save you the hair pulling logistics.

Give me a shout if you need help with this and I can send you a list of incredible people.

THINK ABOUT YOUR OUTFIT

This may sound silly but you wouldn’t believe some of the stories I have about wedding outfits.

More than anything I want my couples to comfortable and I don’t want you to worry about something on the day that we can actually prepare for.

I love London but the streets are dirty so if you are planning on walking to your venues or want to go for a wander for your portraits are you prepared for your outfit to get dirty?

Do you have a long journey in between venues? How comfortable is your outfit for sitting in?

Are you walking to your venue? How comfortable are those shoes and do you need to bring a pair of comfy shoes to walk in and dance in?
