Personal Project Call Out

When we started planning our honeymoon in San Francisco, I knew we had to make a stop at City Light Books. Steeped in history and home to some of my favourite authors, I knew this was going to be a special place.  To say I was excited, is an understatement and Alex can vouch for my constant talking about the books that had their roots firmly grounded in this shop.

We spent a lot of time in the store, I of course took a lot of photographs and I got thinking about a project that requires your help!
I want to photograph a series of images of people in their favourite shops. I love how peoples favourite things reveal something about them and it was getting lost in my my now favourite bookshop that started this all.

If you have a favourite bookshop, cafe, record store, gallery, place where you can get lost for hours please get in contact. You can either email me at lisajanephotography (at) or leave a comment below and I will get in with you.

  1. I have two – Liberty because of the building style. I just love walking up and down the wooden staircase, and the old lifts and the panelling and carving everywhere. And any Michaels craft shop where I find ‘bits’ – buttons, wool, pins, paper, beads and ‘stuff’ in general!

  5. I love the Salvation Army charity shop near my work (John Street in Aberdeen), but I do miss this amazing antiques/reclamation place my ex’s mum used to take me to in Auldearn; if I could drive I would still be heading there all the time!
