Elopement Wedding Photography
A Copenhagen Town Hall Elopement
I’ve just got back from the most wonderful day in Copenhagen documenting these two eloping. There were tears, lots of laughter and a fair amount or walking as they walked the city and celebrated.
As soon as I sent Michelle & Sebastian their sneak peeks, Michelle posted one of the images to instagram and wrote the following about their day.
‘We chose to marry alone, on our own terms and without the pressure and stress that the thought of a traditional wedding can bring. We chose to put ourselves, our happiness, our bank accounts and our mental health first.
Now, two days into our marriage, we are so happy that we made this decision. Our day was pure joy and 100% us. We cried (happy tears) and laughed and kissed. We were stress free and able to enjoy every minute.
Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE attending weddings but I think it’s so important to accept that this isn’t always the best choice for everyone. Having difficult family situations or other external pressures, can make it so hard to enjoy all of the planning and details that go into a traditional wedding.
If you’re planning your wedding and feeling unsure, please listen to yourself. Choose your love and your happiness. Choose to do things in the best way for yourselves and fuck other people’s expectations and the traps of tradition.
Now that the wedding day is done, our plan is to celebrate with the people we love throughout the rest of the year. With dinners, drinks and little parties in all of the countries we’re connected to: Germany, England, Grenada. Friends, family- we love you and we can’t wait to celebrate the joy of our union with you. Thank you for letting us do things in our own way.’
